God Loves You.
"The great thing to remember is that though our feelings come and go, God's love for us does not."
- C.S Lewis

Love. This is a word that our culture uses to illustrate many things. We love football, we love freedom, and we love friends and family. Biblical love is a little more potent and specific. Biblical love is action. Biblical love is the willingness to sacrifice for the betterment of others. Biblical love keeps no record of wrong. The Bible tells us that God loves us. He loves us, not like we love football, but with a passion that is unmatched.

"We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them."
1 John 4:16

Unmerited Love.
"God's love does not love that which is worthy of being loved, but it creates that which is worthy of being loved."
- Martin Luther

When pondering the love of God, maybe some of us do not feel deserving. We have all at one point probably doubted God, turned our back on Him, questioned Him, and have shaken our fist in anger at Him. The truth is, we do not deserve His love, yet He faithfully loves us. This is the beauty of God's love. We can do nothing to gain it, we can do nothing to lose it. God faithfully loves you because of who He is. Maybe you are feeling unworthy of being loved. Maybe you messed up big time and feel worthless. Maybe you are living a lifestyle that you know does not please God. He still loves you. He has not given up on you. He is with you. Allow this truth to lead you back into His arms.

"But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners."
Romans 5:8

Loving Others.
"I believe in the equality of man; and I believe that religious duties consist in doing justice, loving mercy, and endeavoring to make our fellow-creatures happy."
- Thomas Paine

As we grow in the understanding of God's love for us, we naturally begin to love others. Through the power of The Holy Spirit, we can love others with a Biblical love. The love we give, and receive from others, is usually dependent on merit. Christian's are to love others, not based on merit, rather based on an outpouring of God's love through us.

"Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples."
John 13:35
