Here to help.
Following Christ means that we work on our own personal walk with Him. However, it does not stop there. Once we have committed ourselves to following Christ, one of the chief ways we actually follow Him is by doing what we can to help others come to know Him and grow in Him. The amazing thing about following Christ is that we all have such an important role to play. No matter who you are, once you dedicate your life to Jesus, you have an eternally significant purpose and calling. It is to help others take hold of joy, freedom, purpose, and peace that is only found in Christ. It is to help others leave behind despair, confusion, chaos, and doubt, in order to walk in true and abundant life that Christ offers. Aren't you tired of seeing so many people in pain, fearful, and in despair? Through you, God wants to bring light into the darkness.
How?
First off, you do not need to be perfect to help others know Christ. You don't need to be some renown Biblical scholar. All you need is to know Him yourself. In our Tuesday Night Life Group, we have been studying the book of 1 Thessalonians. Chapter two gives us some practical steps we can take to help others know Christ deeper.

- Seek them out: Don't expect others to flock to you.
- Be friendly: Defeat the stigma many have toward Christians that we are mean and judgmental.
- Seek to give, not to gain: Remember, you are there to impart blessing and truth to them.
- Stick to Scripture: If you really want to see them live an abundant life, Scripture is the only way.
- Give more than a message, give yourself: People respond well when they know we actually care for them and are there for them.
- Give them action steps: People want to be a part of something bigger than themselves, explain how they can participate in God's calling for their life.
- Continued follow up: Follow through, do not forget about them a few months in.
- Do it to please God, not man: Remember who you are working for.
- Persevere through discouragement: You may not be seeing the results you want, keep pressing forward.
