Faithful
You probably had some pretty awesome times this year. You also probably experienced a good share of difficulty, pain, and confusion as well. Whatever this year has brought, you’re here now, and that means God was faithful to bring you to this point.  I can think of many times this past year where God has faithfully brought me through difficulty. I’m sure you can do the same.

What is faithfulness?
The Biblical concept of faithfulness is trustworthiness, or something that can be relied upon. I can trust that the sun will be faithful to rise in the morning. I can rely on gravity to keep me grounded. Even more so, I can know that God will be faithful to everything He says.

"If we are unfaithful, God remains faithful, for He cannot deny who He is."- 2 Timothy 2:13

God's faithfulness.
God is not faithful to take away all difficulty. We cannot count on Him to make our lives problem free on this side of Heaven. However, He is faithful to give us the strength to endure through difficulty. He is faithful to guide us, through His Word, Spirit, and Church, as we navigate the many problems life presents us.

"By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life."
- 2 Peter 1:3

Confidence in His faithfulness.
  • If you follow Jesus, you can count on your Creator to faithfully provide everything you need to live an abundant life full of spiritual blessing and strength to do His perfect will.  (John 10:10, 2 Peter 1:3)

  • If you follow Jesus, you can count on your Savior’s atoning death on the cross to faithfully cover every failure, mistake, and sin. (Romans 5:1)

  • If you follow Jesus, you can count on The Holy Spirit to faithfully guide you through this life, no matter what comes your way. (John 14:16)

  • If you follow Jesus, you can count on The Good Shepherd to faithfully cause all things to work for your benefit.  (Romans 8:28)

He has been faithful thus far, will He not be faithful tomorrow and forever?
